Our knowledgeable and helpful concierge service is available to all our guests and provides an important service which starts even before you get to Zermatt.
During your stay with Matterhorn Chalets, we are on hand to provide assistance generally but here are a few of the main areas where we can help with valuable advice and information as well as making whatever arrangements or reservations may be appropriate.
Airline Tickets
Most of our guests travel to Switzerland by air, usually to Zurich or Geneva airports. We recommend Momentum Travel, IAIA agents based in London, who can help with all your international air ticket needs.
Road and Rail Travel to Switzerland
Some of our European and UK-based guests choose these options and we are pleased to help with advice and recommendations regarding route planning and overnight stops, rail tickets and cross-channel ferries.
Airport Transfers
The principal modes of transport up to Zermatt from one of its gateway airports are rail, private taxi/mini-bus or helicopter. We are pleased to help with information and make the relevant bookings for you.
Car Parking
As a convenient alternative to the Matterhorn Terminal car park and shuttle train combination, we can arrange private valet parking in Täsch together with special taxi transport up to Zermatt.
Meet and Greet
During the winter season, we welcome all our guests at either Zermatt railway or taxi stations, and arrange transportation on to their chalet or apartment by local electro-taxi.
Pre-arrival Shopping and Drinks Delivery
While our chalet staff generally wait for late arrivals who have pre-booked a catered arrangement, we can do a first grocery shop for self-catered guests with sufficient notice.
In any case, we are pleased to organise delivery of various wines, spirits, mineral waters and soft drinks directly to guests’ accommodation.
Luggage Handling
We can receive and store any luggage which guests may have sent to Zermatt ahead of their arrival. We can also hold luggage pending its collection after your departure and in many cases, help with forwarding arrangements.
Restaurant Reservations
Zermatt is famous for the quality of its restaurants, both on and off the mountain. During much of the winter season and especially during the Christmas and New Year period, advance booking is absolutely essential for the more well known establishments.
Child Care
‘Alpine Nannies‘ provide an excellent service but it is important that child care is booked well in advance, especially for the principal holiday periods.
Ski Passes
Zermatt offers a selection of passes and tickets for its extensive ski lift network, including the Gornergrat railway and the lifts on the Italian side of the ski area.
We will advise on the pass options and discounts that are available and arrange for your skiers’ and pedestrian passes to be ready for you when you arrive. This saves standing in the busy ticket office lines and permits immediate use of the local bus service which is included with the passes.
Ski and Snowboard instruction
Stoked Ski School offers various teaching and guiding options but to ensure availability of the instructors or children’s ski school places you need, please discuss your requirements with us as early as possible so we can make the appropriate booking for you.
Mountain Guides
Zermatt’s mountain guides are the specialists for off-piste, heli-ski and ski touring excursions. Availability of these popular professionals is often difficult so early booking is essential.
Equipment Rental
As the quality, range and availability of rental skis, boots and snow boards is so good, pre-booking is not necessary unless you have a specific requirement or particularly big feet!
We have arrangements with rental shops that provide free overnight storage of rented equipment next to the main lift stations and offer our guests a 10% discount on normal public prices.
Spas, Massage and Beauty Treatments
While most of our chalets have in-house ‘wellness’ areas, Zermatt has a number of impressive hotel spas that are open to outside clients.
We can also arrange for a qualified practitioner to give our guests a selection of massage treatments in the comfort and convenience of their chalet or apartment.
Other Activities
During the winter season, Zermatt offers many activities and excursions that are not directly related to skiing or boarding, including:
