New Hirli Chairlift Replaces T-bar In Schwarzsee

Zermatt is always working hard to make the the lift system is as good as it possibly can be.

This summer has seen a new six person chairlift built to service the Schwarzsee ski area. It replaces the old T-bar which had been operating there for about 50 years.

The new lift is progressing to schedule, with the top station completed first and work now moving on the base station.

Longer and faster

The new lift will be longer and faster than the previous lift, with a total length of just under two kilometres, rising 700 vertical metres (255m more than the old T-bar).
