Remember, Remember, it’s Zermatt in November

Roger Federer lost in the Final at Wimbledon and the Swiss watch business has taken a dive, but one thing the Swiss have got right is the autumnal skiing in Zermatt.

Best skiing in the Alps

Clear-blue skies, not even a breath of wind at nearly 4000 metres and perfect conditions on piste have delivered an amazing start to the winter season.  A combination of good snow preservation over the summer and a couple of big early snow storms in October, have meant that Zermatt can offer possibly the best skiing conditions in the Alps right now.

Early birds flocking to Zermatt

Whilst many other resorts across France, Italy and Austria are looking at thousands of golden brown trees lining pistes unmarked by even artificial snow flakes, Zermatt is attracting all the season’s early-birds wanting to get their first turns in and prepare themselves for the winter in the best possible way.

 Off-piste skiing

The off-piste is best left alone for now as, unless you really know where you’re going, you’re likely to come across some crevasses so wide they could easily accommodate a multi-story car park.
