The high-performance cableway from Trockener Steg to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (Klein Matterhorn) is an ongoing project that started in 2016 and will be finished during the summer of 2018.
If you’re in Zermatt and would like to know more about it, then you can visit the InfoCube, located on Trockener Steg.
New 3S Cableway
The InfoCube includes plenty of interactive information explaining how the first access to the Klein Matterhorn peak was created and covers the period up to and including the current 3S cableway project.
There’s a chance for visitors to put on VR (virtual reality) glasses and take a virtual trip to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise.
Videos show you what has happened so far, plus you can handle the materials being used to construct the 3S cableway as well as seeing what challenges are faced by flying helicopters at high altitude.
