Lights projected onto the Matterhorn by artist Gerry Hofstetter have turned this iconic Swiss mountain into a symbol of hope in our current global challenge.
Symbols are important in a time of crisis. The Matterhorn has already carried several messages of support and solidarity against the spread of Coronavirus.
“They remind us that we are part of an entity, of a whole – whether at the level of the nation, at the cultural, political level – in the face of this terrible virus. It is in a way the possibility for a population to find yourself.”
The new images appeared every evening from sunset until 11pm.
Zermatt is closed until June 08 at least. Until we next ski again, we continue to look up and be inspired.
