Zermatt has announced that it is extending the autumn season by a week, meaning that cable cars, accommodation and restaurants will remain open until at least 18 October.
The home of the Matterhorn has decided to extend the autumn season by an extra week to cover the school holidays of most Swiss cantons.
The school summer holidays were a major success for Zermatt. Although there was an expected year-on-year decline, much of the resort experienced high occupancy rates.
Restaurants, shops and railways all benefited from an increased number of Swiss willing to travel, as well as other European visitors.
Although many of our regular clients are either prevented from travelling or subject to quarantine on return, we look forward to the day when we will all ski together again.
