This new CHF9 million multimedia experience opened in the old Hohtälli cable car building, offering incredible views of the 29 surrounding ‘four-thousander’ mountains and a chance to get close to the Matterhorn in three ‘Zooom’ levels.
Take a virtual paragliding flight
Level One gives visitors the choice between two virtual paragliding experiences – a relaxed, chilled-out panoramic flight and a thrilling, fast-paced flight.
These virtual flights are enjoyed with 3D glasses and seats that actually swing around, focussing on the Matterhorn and the incredible Alpine landscape in Zermatt.
Zermatt through the seasons
Level Two takes visitors on a journey through the seasons. It will take you from the frozen, snowy landscapes of winter, to spring meadows, balmy summer evenings and back into wild autumn storms.
With images and light projected from three sides, you’ll see a highly detailed virtual Matterhorn that you can actively move through.
Experience the ‘real’ Matterhorn
Level Three changes to focus onto the ‘real’ Matterhorn and the surrounding Alpine landscape in all its majesty and beauty.
Use a periscopes allow get incredibly close to this iconic mountain, using anchor points in field of view for extra info about each topic.
A ‘Must-Do’ in Zermatt
The whole multimedia experience is completed by a detailed array on key historical events, the Alpine natural world – flora, fauna and glaciers – and the history of the Gornergrat Bahn itself.
The ‘Zooom The Matterhorn’ experience is must-do while in Zermatt and best experienced when enjoying the a trip on the world-famous Gornergrat railway.
