20th Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon (02 July 2022)
There aren’t many marathons that are uphill all the way, but the Zermatt Marathon takes you all the way from St Niklaus (1116m) via Zermatt to Riffelberg (2585m) through some of the most beautiful terrain the Alps. And if the 42km route isn’t enough, then why not add an extra 3.4km and 514m vertical to complete the ultra-marathon and finish at Gornergrat (3089m)?
30th Tie-Break Cup Zermatt (04-07 July 2022)
Tennis lovers can enjoy live competition at the ‘Tie-Break Cup’ from 04-07 July. Players from national ranking levels will fight for prize money for this 30th anniversary event.
Täschalp Run (31 July 2022)
If the marathon’s not for you, then perhaps try this shorter, but equally stunning, course. Just down the valley from Zermatt, in neighbouring Täsch the Täschalp covers 8.9km.
Swiss National Day (31 July/01 August 2022)
It’s Switzerland’s birthday! Join us for a massive street food festival on 31 July taking place on Bahnhofstrasse. Then on 01 August enjoy more celebrations that end with a magnificent firework display.
52nd Folklore Festival (13-14 August 2022)
This is a weekend to enjoy traditional costumes and music. The spectacular Saturday afternoon parade attracts people from all across Switzerland. Experience a typical Swiss weekend in the most iconic Swiss resort!
10th Matterhorn Ultraks (19-21 August 2022)
If you love trail running, then the Matterhorn Ultraks has the race for you. With six races from 19km to 49km, there’s something for all ‘trailers’ to enjoy. New for this 10th anniversary, why not try the ‘Vertinight’: a vertical kilometre of climbing to Schwarzsee!
Chasing Cancellara (26 August 2022)
This cycling event is a chance to ‘chase’ Fabian Cancellara, the two-time Olympic gold medal winner. The 280km route starts in Zurich and finishes in Zermatt after 6500m of climbing.
30th Matterhorn Eagle Cup (03 September 2022)
The Matterhorn Eagle Cup is an ‘adventure golf’ team competition taking place at the foot of the Matterhorn! Combine your favorite hobby with a wonderful hike around the Gornergrat.
Zermatt Music Festival & Academy (08-18 September 2022)
Enjoy classical concerts in the middle of Zermatt: whether in the church, on the terrace or in a hotel. Musicians from across the world will convene to enchant our village.
Schäferfest (11 September 2022)
