Zermatt features in Time’s ‘World’s Greatest Places’ list

We already know that Zermatt is one of the world’s greatest places, but Time Magazine recently made it official, by featuring our favourite Swiss resort in their 2024 ‘World’s Greatest Places’ list.

The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing, which connects Zermatt with Cervinia in one continuous set of lifts, was featured alongside destinations as diverse as the Via Transilvanica in Romania, the Sharaan Game Reserve in Saudi Arabia and the Baths of Carelleca in Rome. You can view the full list here.

The Alpine Crossing route

‘Traverse the Alps in the most epic way’

Time suggests its readers ‘traverse the Alps in the most epic way—aboard the world’s highest 3S cableway’, noting that it connects the Swiss and Italian resorts in just 90 minutes.

“Sink into your sleek Pininfarina-designed panoramic car and brace for a wild 7,400-foot climb from Zermatt, soaring into the clouds and hovering 650 feet above Theodul Glacier, as you rise alongside the iconic Matterhorn.”

Described as a ‘a truly priceless experience’, it’s something that everyone should try at least once in their life.
