Okay, we might be a tiny bit biased, but we’re evidently not the only ones who think that Zermatt is the best resort in Switzerland by far.
This month, TripAdvisor confirmed Zermatt as the Top Destination in Switzerland…for the fifth year in a row.
This annual award from TripAdvisor is a ‘Travellers’ Choice’ award, based on the feedback and comments made by hundreds of thousands of their visitors, who use the site for researching their travel plans.
TripAdvisor used an algorithm that examined the quantity and quality of reviews for hotels, restaurants and attractions in each destination within the last twelve months to determine the rankings. They also took into account the level of booking interest on the site.
Why Zermatt is better than Verbier and St Moritz
Regular visitors to our blog will know we have already explained why Zermatt is a better ski resort than Verbier (which doesn’t make the top ten at all), and also why it’s a better choice than heading to St Moritz (which comes in at no.9 on the list)
Both are great resorts: it’s simply that Zermatt is the best!
The rankings don’t lie – Zermatt has topped this list every year since 2012, despite a trend towards the larger cities in Switzerland.
