In Zermatt skiing is available 365 days a year, so Zermatt is always ‘open’ on the 21km of pistes of the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. However, the rest of the ski area will officially open for the 2025/26 winter season on 29 November 2025.
Zermatt Winter Opening Date – 29 November 2025
The formal opening date for winter 2025/26 in Zermatt is 29 November 2025. Pistes in the Rothorn, Sunegga, Hohtalli and Gornergrat areas will open on 06 December. Most lifts will remain open until 19 April 2026.
